Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD Soundtrack Is Legit

You read it right - the remake's soundtrack is still thrashtastic.

By Dylan Coffey on 5/24/2012
When we learned about  Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD last year, the inevitable thoughts of legitimacy floated through our minds. Will it still feel like a punk rock rebellion in under 700 MB after it received its revamps? Would the original music be available? If not, would the new music do the series justice? Well, some of these worries have been put to rest; Sound and Vision Magazine discovered a partial playlist of the songs in THPSHD and it looks pretty solid. Though it isn't the original soundtrack, it pulls some of the best songs from across the Tony Hawk franchise and sprinkles in a few more.

Without further ado, here's the list:

  • “Bring the Noise" - Anthrax featuring Chuck D
  • “Superman" - Goldfinger
  • “When Worlds Collide" - Powerman 5000
  • “Heavy Metal Winner" - Consumed
  • “May 16" - Lagwagon
  • “No Cigar" - Millencolin
  • “You" - Bad Religion
  • “The Bomb" - Pigeon John
  • “We the People" - Lateef the Truthspeaker
  • “Marathon Mansion!" - Pegasuses-XL
  • “Teenage Blood" - Apex Manor
  • “Please Ask for Help" - Telekinesis
  • “Flyentology (Cassettes Won’t Listen Remix)" - El-P featuring Trent Reznor
  • “USA" - Middle Class Rut

"Superman" is the only one here that returns from the original, but songs like "Bring the Noise" and "When Worlds Collide," both from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, are iconic to the series and fit perfectly. The overall flavor of this list is distinctly "Tony Hawk's punk skater," as it should be, and gives us hope as to the finished product's quality.
