THQ 2014 Lineup Not Cancelled; 40K Fans Cancel Suicide Pacts

THQ Australia confirmed in no uncertain terms that the rumors are false.

By Dylan Coffey on 1/16/2012
A wave of terror swept over the internet over the past few days regarding ongoing rumors that THQ was cancelling its full 2014 lineup, potentially including i nSANE and Devil's Third, as well as returning intellectual property rights to their owners - in some cases even losing out on advance payments for those IPs. The biggest news for many was the potential cancellation of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millenium, which Warhammer 40K enthusiasts have been pining for since its March 2007 release. This information came by way of a series of twitter posts from Kevin Dent, an established source for industry information, and the loss was grieved immediately by the denizens of many Warhammer 40K fan communities. Fans of Guillermo del Toro and the Darksiders series were also reported to be among the bereaved.

These rumors lacked a little something in substance and realism however. After all, Saints Row: The Third has made a killing, and the uDraw tablet along side deBlob did well on the Wii. It turns out that these doubts were completely justified, as THQ Australia come out and definitively denied any cancellations: "THQ has not cancelled its 2014 line-up, and has not made any decisions regarding the planned MMO." This is a relief, though not the enthusiastic affirmation of Dark Millennium that many fans (this writer included) would have liked. The statement went on to point on the great success of Saints Row: The Third which "has tripled in sell-through from Saint Row 2." In any case, we're just happy to hear that the games are still scheduled and that the company is not going under.

Can't picture a 40k online game. Shooting would get repetitive, unless they focus on melee combat or have a few abilities to make it more interesting.

After playing Space Marine I can't see it being that good.
