Sim City 5 In The Works?

EA/Maxis appear to have a new Sim City in the works

By Ben Harrison on 3/2/2012
Since Sim City launched in 1989, many games in the long-running series have received critical acclaim and many awards over the years. However, the series has been in a slight decline as of late, since there hasn't been a new game in the core series since 2003. Publisher EA/Maxis has been releasing hints as to a new game lately, and a few supposed screenshots of the game in progress have made their way to the internet as a result.

The Game Developer's Conference is an annual collection of game designer's from all over the world held to discuss not only the latest breakthroughs in gaming, but also to discuss where game design will be in the future. EA/Maxis has been hinting that they will be making a huge announcement at the conference this year, and Maxis has posted ads hiring additional talent to work on a "triple-A simulation style game."While Sim City 5 isn't officially announced yet, it is widely believed to be announcement EA/Maxis plans on making. The conference is set to take place on March 5th through 9th in San Francisco, so be sure to check back for more announcements from the conference! In the meantime, check out the screenshots below!
