Newly revealed characters for upcoming Mortal Kombat

God of War's Kratos announced; MK website leaks additional fighters

By Jake Rodgers on 12/8/2010
As if slashing his way through the ranks of Mt. Olympus wasn't enough, Kratos will soon be taking his bloodlust to the realm of Mortal Kombat. According to the Official Playstation (via StickSkills), Kratos will be a PS3 exclusive character in the upcoming MK reboot. The misanthropic Spartan will come equipped with his own moveset and fatalities, and is responsible for the inclusion of a God of War-themed Coliseum level. Sadly, Kratos will not be playable in storymode, but will at least be a formidable opponent in versus mode.

While Kratos may have been revealed somewhat officially, the same cannot be said about a list of several other characters that surfaced recently. Audio leaked from the official Mortal Kombat website revealed a list of previously unannounced fighters including: Shang Tsung, Goro, Ermac, Smoke, Kabal, Sindel, Noob Saibot, Stryker, and Quan Chi. This new information stems from an error on the MK website, which unintentionally allowed access to certain audio files. In addition to the character "announcements", separate audio files point to a possible resurrection of the "Test Your Might" minigame and "Brutality" finishing moves. While the website's mistake has since been rectified and all videos containing the audio ripped from YouTube; the information made it to the masses and, as gaming fans, what more could we ask for?

Tried out the WII MK games when I went through my WII phase and wasn't that impressed. It was like a very poor God of War with actually MK fights inbetween. Hopefully they don't have a lame version like that in the next game.

If they do they should at least focus on making the combat a bit more diverse like God of War.
