Gorgeous Trailers for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus surface

Thats right, more eye candy and nostalgia.

By Ryan Deubler on 7/5/2011
New trailers have surfaced today for both HD remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Ico; and my are they beautiful. As opposed to last time though, where the two were composed into a single video, each game now has their own separate trailer, rich with gameplay and cinematics, while presumably telling a small bit about the story (if you speak Japanese). It's not a big deal if you don't understand the language though, because both games have been released in English for quite some time, way back in 2001 and 2005, so the story has been well established.

If you have never played either of these games before though, you have missed out on some emotional and impactful story telling coupled with ultimately rewarding gameplay. The environments also looked gorgeous at the time of their release and with an HD makeover, the true beauty of these worlds can be seen like never before. Fear not though, if you never played them the first time around, because both of these games are expected to release sometime in the fourth quarter this year and will be available in one conveniant box, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, for only $39.99. This is an amazing deal for two of the most respected and revered games of last generation.

Looking at these trailers, it's hard not to get excited to play these masterpieces once again, only this time in the splendid glory of HD. To that end, it seems like there are going to be quite a few HD remakes to release in the future, ranging from Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders HD collections to Nintendo classics reappearing on the 3DS.

Are there any other games that desperately need an HD remake out there? A Jak and Daxter HD collection would be nice to put on the PS3 right before continuing the series, if Naughty Dog decides to this, that is.  What series would you most like to see get an HD remake?
