Enter The Metro

Check out this killer teaser for the Metro 2033 sequel.

By Dylan Coffey on 5/31/2012
Metro 2033 is a miserably underrated game that many of our dear readers have likely never even touched. It explored the gap between  Fallout and  Resident Evil with a focus on resource management and risk-reward analysis set parallel to immersive horror gaming.  2033 was not underrated enough to be overlooked by THQ, though; instead, 4A Games and the struggling publisher have come together to create  Metro: Last Light, a sequel to the 2010 post-apocalyptic title. Check out this teaser video.

The video shows us nothing about the game, but does show us a lot about the consistent Russian aesthetic found in both games. There is no confirmation if the game's HUD will retain the unique, immersive look that it did in  2033.  2033 was a big hit in simulationist circles thanks to the brutality of its hard-mode UI, which displayed literally nothing. On that difficulty, ammo was tracked visually by counting rounds and looking at the clips themselves. Are you excited for  Metro: Last Light? Go check out the official site and let us know what you think below.

Well that video has me intrigued, despite not understanding a lick of Russian. The hard mode from the original makes me want to go check that out too.

You're gonna wanna look at Hardest, specifically. That's where the ultra-immersion is to be found.

Good to know. I've got to get ahold of the game first.
