E3 2011: First Darksiders II Screenshots and Trailer Released

After a very strong opening with the original Darksiders, Vigil Games is not content to let the IP sit idly by.  Indeed, Darksiders II is not only in development, but from what we've seen thus far, it's looking quite good.  Featuring a new horseman of the apocalypse, Death, Vigil is promising a rather intricate loot system, more varied dungeons, and the ability to interact with a number of NPC's.  Specifics are still rather sparse at the moment, but as E3 approaches I imagine we'll be treated to more information in the very near future.  Until then, enjoy the screens and debut trailer below courtesy of GameInformer.



While we only get a glimpse, Death looks to be just a capable as War in the quest to restore humanity to the way it was before the apocalypse.  His horse, aptly named Despair, should provide for adequate means of travel and hopefully some new gameplay possibilities.
