Diablo III Release Date Confirmed; Apocalypse Expected

The end times are neigh, my beloved Game Affected. Blizzard has officially confirmed the release date of Diablo III, thankfully following up on its promise to deliver an announcement regarding that. Alongside the release date confirmation came details on the Diablo III collector's edition, which includes a 4GB "Soulstone" USB drive (containing a full version of Diablo II as a nice touch), perks for Diablo III as well as World of Warcraft and StarCraft II, a "Behind The Scenes" set, an art book, and the game's soundtrack. Enough about the collector's edition. We know what you've come for.  

There you have it, folks. Closer than many predicted, in fact; some sources doubted we would even see Diablo III this year, much less in Q2. Regardless, the chips are down now, and those wishing to pre-order can do so immediately via Battle.net. World of Warcraft players should keep in mind the deal available to them; by signing up for an Annual Pass, effectively committing to a one-year contract of playtime, they can receive a free, full copy of Diablo III. Not a bad deal for those who already frequent Azeroth - and darkly tempting to those (like this writer) who haven't been in a while.
