Diablo III Pre-Orders Open

The mad rush to lock in for the Collector's Edition of Diablo III has begun.

By Dylan Coffey on 10/24/2011
On Saturday, we revealed information about Blizzard's new "Annual Pass" subscription plan for World of Warcraft including a free copy of Diablo III. Only two days afterwards, we've discovered that Amazon.com has begun to offer pre-orders for both the Collector's Edition and the Standard Edition of Diablo III. Though we don't have a solid release date just yet, Amazon.com promises the standard free shipping with arrival on the day of release for both the Standard and Collector's editions of the game. The $40 price increase for the Collector's edition brings with it the gamut of standard Collector's Edition perks:
  • Diablo III PC/Mac Game DVD-Rom
  • Diablo Skull
  • 4GB "Soulstone" USB Drive
  • Exclusive in-game content:
    • Diablo III – Aesthetic artifacts (glowing angel wings, armor dye, exclusive banner, and more)
    • World of Warcraft – Fetish Shaman Pet
    • StarCraft II: Three exclusive Battle.net Portraits
  • Behind-the-Scenes Blu-Ray/DVD set
  • The Art of Diablo III Book
  • Diablo III Soundtrack DVD
Thanks to BlizzPlanet for that list of Collector's Edition perks. Diablo III has already reached high marks on Amazon's best seller lists: #2 in both Action and All Games for the PC Collector's Edition, and #4 in Role-playing as well as #15 in All Games for the Standard Edition. Diablo III has a projected release date of some time in early 2012; be ready to raise Hell by then.

Haha, brighter than diablo 2, you have seen a fraction of the game and you're commenting on the art direction. I have seen many videos showing desolate deserts and dark creepy dungeons. Yes maybe there is a rainbow or two but it doesn't mean that game is going to revolve around these type of environments. Maybe it's as simple as the hero progressing through less and less favorable lands ultimately ending up in hell or somewhere worse??. I realize that many people loved D2 for its dark atmosphere. However I am confident that it will be as dark and twisted as its predecessors.

If only I had a pc that could run it.... Maybe we'll actually see the much rumored console port. I will still be playing Skyrim in 2012 anyway.

I feel like I'm the only one not that interested in this game. I mean, sure, if you're into this series then I'm fine with that. It's just that lately it seems like all I hear is talk about Diablo 3. Maybe I'm just odd..

Yeah your right it's a series thing, I loved the first two games and have great memories playing them and I think that's why I'm so excited for this to come out
