Battlefield 3 Donya Fortress Trailer Gets In Your Face

Close quarters doesn't begin to cover this map.

By Dylan Coffey on 4/27/2012
Battlefield 3's trifecta of DLC is still incoming. Today we have a trailer that gives us some full-on gameplay footage on one of the new maps in the "Close Quarters" DLC. That map is "Donya Fortress," and its layout clearly reflects its design. With tight corridors, excessively destructible terrain, and a generally claustrophobic multi-layered flavor, "Donya Fortress" definitely looks like a great place to get up close and personal. Watch the trailer and decide for yourself.

We especially liked seeing the indoors-to-outdoors transition and the presence of small, contained water features, both of which seem conducive to excellent close-quarters combat. Our favorite part, though, is at 1:09 with the pillars filling a small room. Twitchy as the fighting there must be, it certainly looks exhilarating, and we expect that the pillar room will be home to a great number of protracted firefights - and stabbings. How do you feel about this map? Let us know below.
